Rodbaston- Jack and Storm win in style.

Jack and Phoenix Storm have performed excellently on a great many occasions but the best performance for both came at the Rodbaston British eventing 1 day event in October 2008. Jack had entered on a day ticket in the intro section and was competing against 130 other competitors including one of the Irish olympic team (albeit on a rookie horse)
Jack completed a superb dressage with a score of 27.2 - his best yet and at this level!!. He then followed this up with a clear round in the show jumping in awful conditions. Having managed to get his studs in, Jack then set off on the cross country and the accompanying picture shows his exilaration at completeing it clear. After what seemed like an age, Jack was not only winner of his group but had the overall best score from the three groups of the day.
Lets hope this is first of many and qualified Jack for regional intro championships.

Jack joined East Cheshire Pony club and was a regular on their teams, further enhancing his rosette tally with some excellent results.
Jack soon realised that 1 day/3day eventing was the route that he would like to take. This involves dressage, show jumping and cross country elements and is a huge test for both rider and horse. Courage and technique is essential and both Jack and Phoenix Storm showed these in buckets. It also became clear to both ourselves and to others watching that Storm under the excellent guidance of Jack had a huge amount to give, something that seemed inconceivable when he was first purchased.
Jack rode pre-novice at Somerford, a tough course, and completed the cross country in style. Storm looked like he would have been quite happy to go again!!

Jack and Phoenix Storm - Adlington

Jack had great success at shows in Macclesfield and Wilmslow. He won many junior novice titles during this year and was presented with the Junior novice title. His first major success was in Adlington. At this show he was pitted against all age groups and at the age of 13, managed to get placed in a class of about 50 riders. Jack showed great courage in the jump off to ensure that he not only jumped clear but jumped quick. This was a huge break through for Jack.

Jack and Phoenix Storm came together in July 2004. Jack had started riding at the Prestbury riding school and on many occasions had the opportunity to ride Storm who at this point was just a riding school pony with potential.
In July 2004, we were lucky enough to buy Storm and his name was changed to Phoenix Storm and so began a remarkable partnership. Jack has proven to be exceptionally dedicated to his craft and to his horse. It was not long before Jack and Storm were competing in local shows and the rosette tally began to rise.
